Spent the day working while Laurie went and did errands. While she was out she got me a pair of micro-spikes. I figured I should take em somewhere where I can really try em out. Last time Laurie and I did Meyers Ranch it was really ice so I figured I'd head out there and try my luck.
Well turns out the snow as really soft. I should've wore my X-Talons and nothing else. Oh well. The micro-spikes performed admirably. Running in my F-Lites I would've been sliding all over the place but the spikes kept me in gear. The reason I would have preferred my X-Talons over the f-lites with spikes is running down hill I can feel the chains pull over the tops of my toes and it gets a little uncomfortable. I would rather have a little un-comfort in my toes than risk sliding and/or falling down a mountain. The X-Talons would have handled the lose snow just fine by themselves.
